Job Summary

Bethel Church of Redding is seeking a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team. As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a vital role in managing employee compensation and payroll processes for the organization.

This is a non-exempt, part-time position (40 hours biweekly) with a competitive hourly rate of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll-related requests in the HRM system, including new hires, bonus requests, and pay rate changes.
  • Collect, organize, and verify biweekly timesheet information for employees.
  • Assist with biweekly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with multi-state and federal regulations.
  • Manage and process payroll garnishments.
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to address and resolve questions regarding payroll.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience with a payroll system and payroll processing is preferred.
  • Understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices is a plus.
  • Proficient math skills with a basic understanding of accounting principles and/or payroll processes.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
