A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Registered Nurse will provide direct and indirect care to patients, including prescribing, delegating, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating patient teaching and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining professional nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate patient teaching and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel.
- Provide direct and indirect care to patients, including medication administration and wound care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a State Board School of Nursing or equivalent.
- Twelve (12) months experience preferred.
- Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
- AHA BLS – within two (2) weeks of employment.
- Medication Competence – within two (2) weeks of employment.
- Computer Competence- within four (4) weeks of employment.
- A Medication Examination – within twelve (12) weeks of employment.
- Basic Dysrhythmia (if applicable) – within twelve (12) weeks of employment.
- TNCC- within six (6) months of employment if hired in MICU or Neuro ICU.
- Critical Care Classes and Examinations –within in sixteen (16) weeks of employment.
- ACLs-within sixteen (16) weeks of employment.
- Phlebotomy/Point of Care Competency-within four (4) weeks of employment.
Work Environment:
This role is a per diem position, working as needed to support the needs of Christus Health.
