Job Summary:The Psychologist is responsible for planning and implementing all professional psychological service programs of a non-medical nature in the facility. This includes developing and implementing treatment and therapeutic programs for assigned inmates, conducting diagnosis and evaluation tests, and providing direct casework services and individual, group, and family counseling.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement treatment and therapeutic programs for assigned inmates.
- Conduct diagnosis and evaluation tests for inmates to determine needs, establish goals, and develop plans.
- Provide direct casework services and individual, group, and family counseling to inmates and their families.
- Prepare progress reports and provide recommendations regarding discharge plans.
- Recruit, orient, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of all mental health departmental personnel.
- Make recommendations and decisions on matters such as employment, retention, promotion, and other personnel actions.
- Serve in rotation with other medical staff to provide after-hours and weekend patient care, if required.
- Maintain and monitor confidentiality of inmates and their files.
- Advanced degree in psychology required.
- Must have appropriate certification or licensing and five (5) years clinical experience, two (2) of which must be in a comparable position.
- Must possess current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
