Position Overview:
Join our team to uphold safety and regulatory compliance within the nuclear sector by crafting and evaluating essential regulatory documentation. In this role, you will be responsible for generating and assessing submissions, conducting thorough research, remaining informed on industry developments, and tracking changes in regulations. Establishing and nurturing client relationships is crucial, along with providing insights on project timelines and regulatory challenges. You will identify potential licensing prospects, review design alterations, and perform safety assessments.

Key Responsibilities:


As part of our expanding Nuclear Services Group, we are looking for a skilled License Renewal Engineer. This role offers flexibility in work arrangements, including Full Time, Part Time, or LTLB.

You will:

- Offer regulatory guidance to develop and assess documents for submission to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and other relevant agencies, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.

- Conduct independent research, reviews, and analyses to support regulatory and technical initiatives.

- Stay abreast of evolving regulatory trends and maintain a comprehensive understanding of nuclear industry standards and requirements.

- Edit and organize documentation for complex nuclear license applications and smaller technical submissions, topical reports, and white papers.

- Cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients, ensuring satisfaction and proactively identifying support opportunities.

- Contribute to project timelines by providing insights on the scope and duration of regulatory matters and the efforts needed to address them.

- Identify and develop business opportunities related to licensing for operational nuclear facilities and new reactor projects.

- Review studies and conceptual designs for their impact on licensing and conduct safety evaluations.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the nuclear sector.

- Proven experience in license renewal within the nuclear industry.

- In-depth knowledge of regulations, regulatory bodies, and processes related to the design and licensing of nuclear facilities, including the necessary documentation.

- Familiarity with nuclear power plant design and operations.

- Experience in preparing aging management program documents to support license renewal efforts.

- Coordination of the implementation of license renewal commitments and aging management programs.

- Development of Integrated Plant Assessments, including scoping, screening, and aging management reviews of systems, structures, and components.

- Evaluation and updating of time-limited aging analyses (TLAAs) for extended operational periods.

- Preparation of License Renewal Applications (LRA), including FSAR updates and support for Environmental Reports (Part 51) supplements.

- Ability to represent ENERCON and clients at NRC, EPA, and other regulatory meetings and workshops.

- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with proven capabilities in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making.

- Capacity to work effectively in a time-sensitive regulatory environment while delivering high-quality results.

- Ability to collaborate productively with colleagues at all levels in a team-oriented setting.

- Provide direct project support as either an individual contributor or team leader.

- Technical proficiency in general engineering principles, design, and the nuclear industry.
