Job Summary

The Community Services Coordinator is a vital role within the Community Council of South Central Texas, responsible for providing essential support services to low-income individuals and families. This position requires a strong understanding of community resources, social services, and case management principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Intake and Assessment: Conduct initial interviews with clients, assess their needs, and determine eligibility for program services.
  • Case Management: Develop and implement service delivery plans to meet client needs, including short and long-term goals and a timeline for goal accomplishment.
  • Community Outreach: Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, and employers to support organizational collaborations and partnerships.
  • Program Administration: Maintain accurate and complete client case files, prepare utility vouchers and pledges, and reconcile summary of funds with fiscal department reports.
  • Training and Education: Provide client training in energy-education activities, budget counseling, and other aspects necessary to assist clients into work and out of poverty.
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support community outreach and program activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Minimum of one to three years of experience in a social service setting or related work experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of community services standards, policies, and procedures; case management principles and counseling and interviewing techniques; cultural differences and sensitivity to the implications of culture for service delivery.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to and from various sites throughout the CCSCT service area. Occasional out-of-state and overnight travel may be required. The work environment is generally performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.
