About the Role

HLB Gross Collins, P.C. is seeking a highly skilled Tax Preparer to join our team remotely. As a Tax Preparer, you will play a crucial role in assisting our tax practice teams in Columbus, OH and Atlanta, GA to enhance client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax filings for various entities, including individuals and businesses
  • Ensure quality control procedures are followed on client engagements to maintain the highest level of accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with partners and offer solutions to enhance workflow and improve client satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their tax needs and provide personalized service
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize refunds
  • Conduct tax research and analyze filing positions to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
  • Stay current on tax laws and regulations to provide expert advice to clients
  • Handle client billing and ensure timely payment
  • Support tax staff with administrative tasks to ensure seamless operations
  • Network with business peers to stay informed about industry trends and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • At least 3 years of public accounting experience, preferably in corporate and individual tax preparation
  • Expertise in multi-state and consolidated tax returns
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues
  • CPA certification is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus
