Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Texas Health Plano. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will be responsible for performing complex imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients to correct anatomical areas of interest and perform complex procedures, including age-related criteria and developmental considerations.
  • Adjust technique parameters appropriately for age-related factors and assist radiologists with invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • Maintain attention to detail, utilize proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS/RIS, and correctly send and transfer images to PACS.
  • Use multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions to assess and recognize patient emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions.
  • Prepare rooms for examinations, check physician orders, and obtain patient history, using time-out procedures.
  • Administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines and communicate respectfully with coworkers and other departments.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 1 year radiologic technician experience without ARRT-CT required or no experience with ARRT-CT required.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R upon hire required and ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT (w/no radiology technician exp) upon hire required or ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT (w/1 year radiology technician exp) 12 Months required.
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB upon hire required and BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
