Job Summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor to lead our nursing team in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for gerontological nursing.

This role involves directing and coordinating the operations of the nursing department, collaborating with the Director of Nursing to ensure high-quality patient care, and mentoring charge nurses to improve their skills and performance. The Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisor will also provide administrative support, cover charges on clinic days, and assist with per diem coverages.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of two years of previous nursing management experience. We prefer candidates with prior human resources management experience and knowledge of geriatric practice. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, and current certification in gerontological nursing is required within one year of employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate nursing department operations to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Mentor charge nurses to improve their skills and performance.
  • Provide administrative support and cover charges on clinic days.
  • Assist with per diem coverages as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of previous nursing management experience.
  • Prior human resources management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of geriatric practice and Catholic health care directives.
  • Current RN permit or licensure issued by the Board of Nurse Examiners in the State of Texas.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current certification in gerontological nursing or will obtain within one year of employment.
