Position Summary: The Senior Tax Analyst will report directly to the Director of Tax and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of indirect taxes, including sales & use taxes, property taxes, and excise taxes. This role demands a highly detail-oriented professional with a strong background in tax compliance and an ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Indirect Tax Compliance:

\t Prepare and file U.S. sales/use tax returns, property tax returns, excise tax returns, and other miscellaneous business filings in various state and local taxing jurisdictions.
\t Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and deadlines.

2. Research and Analysis:

\t Assist the Director of Tax in researching applicable indirect tax laws, credits, and incentives to ensure optimal tax strategies.
\t Analyze tax-related data to provide insights and recommendations for tax-saving opportunities and compliance improvements.

3. Issue Resolution:

\t Address and resolve tax notices and correspondence from state and local governments in a timely manner.
\t Respond to customer inquiries regarding sales tax billing and exemption certificates, providing clear and accurate information.

4. Financial Reporting:

\t Prepare month-end indirect tax journal entries and perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
\t Monitor and review indirect tax-related transactions to ensure proper accounting and reporting.

5. Audit Support:

\t Assist the Director of Tax with sales/use tax audits, including preparing and analyzing responses to document requests and other audit correspondence.
\t Support the preparation and filing of Voluntary Disclosure Agreements (VDAs) as necessary.

6. Tax Software Management:

\t Contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and accuracy of in-house sales tax software to enhance tax reporting and compliance.
\t Collaborate with the tax team to ensure effective use and functionality of tax software tools.

7. Process Improvement:

\t Update and refine processes for collecting and managing sales tax exemption certificates to ensure compliance and efficiency.
\t Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in indirect tax management.

Qualifications:

\t Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or other relevant certifications are highly preferred.
\t Minimum of 3 years of experience in indirect tax compliance, with a focus on sales/use taxes, property taxes, and excise taxes.
\t In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
\t Experience with tax software and ERP systems; familiarity with specific tax software or ERP system used by the company is a plus.
\t Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
\t Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, acquisition-focused environment.
\t Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
