Medical Director of Critical Care Services

The Director of Medical Critical Care Services is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the Medical ICU and Intermediate Medical Care Unit at Frye Regional Medical Center. This role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is accountable for delivering high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care to patients.
This leadership position requires a strong clinical background, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage and develop a team of nursing professionals. The Director will be responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on each unit, as well as supervising and evaluating the work activities of all nursing personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, and service level determination, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, and ensure that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
- Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state compact license).
- Minimum 5 years RN experience, ICU experience required; minimum 2 years management experience preferred.
