Responsibilities and Qualifications

GSAM is seeking a candidate for the position of Portfolio Manager (PM) in the Insurance Fixed Income team. The candidate will focus on the management of fixed income investment portfolios for insurance companies, supporting GSAM's team of Senior Insurance PMs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate and evaluate private placement opportunities in the corporate, REIT, CTL, sports, and university sectors.
  • Perform investment analysis and credit evaluation, including financial modeling, company research, industry evaluation, and covenant analysis.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with agent banks to originate and evaluate private placement opportunities.
  • Track financial performance, industry trends, and regulatory changes of portfolio companies.
  • Monitor covenant compliance and prepare credit summaries for annual portfolio reviews.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in math, physics, hard sciences, computer science, engineering, economics, or finance with a strong quantitative background.
  • 5+ years of experience in private placement fixed income or a related field, with specific insurance industry experience and a CFA certification a plus.
