Job Summary:
This is a Department of Nursing Service position that provides delivery of patient care with a smooth transition from academic nurse to professional Registered Nurse (RN). The successful candidate will demonstrate clinical ability to work as Primary RN on the Unit to which assigned, coordinate the delivery of patient care, complete required documentation, participate in patient/family teaching and discharge planning, and effectively utilize the Nursing Process.
Reports to: Med Surg/Tele Director
FLSA: Non-exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree required within 90 days of hire.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- BLS required within 30 days (if ACLS is current, BLS is not required).
- Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) License required within 6 months of hire.
- ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
Competencies:
- EKG Course and NIHSS Stroke within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
