Position: Counselor Supervisor
The Counselor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team of Counselors and Counselor Interns who deliver treatment and case management services to clients, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies. This role involves ensuring timely and accurate documentation of client services in line with established care plans. The supervisor must also identify and address the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of assigned clients. Additionally, the supervisor will manage related expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner, aligned with the organization’s budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocate and adjust caseloads for counselors as necessary.
- Oversee and direct all intake operations.
- Evaluate intake assessments for quality assurance.
- Guide pre-admission decisions, case reviews, and counseling meetings to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct quality assurance file reviews.
- Ensure effective and efficient delivery of counseling services to all clients.
- Maintain an active counseling caseload.
- Provide direct supervision to clinical staff and support ongoing staff development through meetings, training sessions, guest speakers, and literature reviews.
- Ensure that clinical records are accurate and up-to-date, in compliance with Federal and State regulations governing treatment facilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications | Education | Certifications:
- Required Licensure: Current licensure from the New Mexico Board as an independently licensed clinician and supervisor: LISW/LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, LPAT, psychologist, psychiatrist, or LADAC for substance use disorder only.
- Prior experience working with individuals with substance use issues.
- Exhibit a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude towards the client population.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
