Cybersecurity Internship

Galen College of Nursing is seeking a highly motivated and talented Cybersecurity Intern to join our team. As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity, working closely with our current security team to develop and implement security controls, security best practices, and other needed security measures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of security controls and measures.
• Help investigate and respond to security alerts, cybersecurity emails, phishing events, and other security events or incidents.
• Conduct research related to cybersecurity issues, threats, and controls.
• Assist with documenting and creating security processes.
• Perform support services, including the management and maintenance of security solutions and other support services related to security within the organization.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of networking and operating systems.
• Familiarity with compliance regulations such as PCI, GLBA, and FERPA.
• Some experience with one or more scripting languages such as bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills – verbal and written.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
