We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Cook to join our team at Healthcare Services Group, Inc. As a Lead Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality dining services are provided to our residents and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve food, including texture modified and therapeutic diets, following facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
- Assist in receiving, storing, preparing, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Support the Dining Services Director and Dietary Aide as needed, and direct other employees with approval.
- Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions and follow safety precautions to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met, and follow infection control and universal precautions policies.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Utilize leadership skills to accomplish responsibilities without supervision and without injury to oneself or others.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and experience in food preparation is a plus.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required based on State/County law.
- Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
- Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
- Must live in the service area.
