As a Pharmacy Technician III Student Pharmacist PRN-Investigational Drug Service, Casual Days, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Dispensing of Medications
    • Prepare medication orders for inpatients and outpatients
    • Pick up orders and deliver medications to nursing units
    • Schedule intravenous admixture solutions according to patient medical records
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Compare patient medication bins with pharmacy and nursing records
    • Return unnecessary and/or outdated medication to the pharmacy
    • Reconcile use records and report discrepancies to pharmacists
  • Inventory Management
    • Receive, prepare, and distribute floor stock requisitions and requisitions for other clinical locations
    • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels in dispensing areas
  • Compounding and Sterile Product Preparation
    • Compound dosage forms needed for dispensing to patients
    • Prepare and maintain emergency medication systems
    • Prepare sterile products for administration to patients
  • Narcotics and Controlled Substances
    • Prepare and deliver narcotics and narcotic admixtures
    • Conduct narcotic perpetual inventories as directed
  • Quality Management Responsibilities
    • Assist in maintaining emergency carts, inventory, and controlled substances records
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Illinois licensure - Pharmacy Technician Student License (IDFPR)
  • Currently enrolled in Pharmacy school and considered a Student Pharmacist
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a Technician Training Program
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
