Summary

Apple is on the lookout for an experienced MLB Product Quality Engineer who possesses exceptional Electrical Engineering expertise. This role involves collaboration with various teams including Product Design, Testing, Product Quality, Supplier Quality, and Contract Manufacturers to ensure the delivery of high-quality systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in new product introductions, ensuring the highest standards of technical quality.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing future designs, which encompass board validation, stress testing, and user impact assessments.
  • Conduct MLB debugging and failure analysis in partnership with System and Product Design, Component Engineering, Testing, Reliability, and Supplier Quality.
  • Oversee all program-related communications with executive management, highlighting key program risks and outlining clear paths to resolution.
  • Commit to delivering results under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
  • Lead quality improvement teams to enhance field performance.
  • Participate in Field Failure Analysis and DPPM reduction efforts.
  • Drive systemic yield improvements and reporting.
  • Implement 8D-based improvements derived from lessons learned during NPI and sustaining issues.
  • Analyze and summarize data effectively to inform decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical design, including both digital and analog systems, as well as electrical testing, debugging, and integration of electronics into systems; experience in consumer electronics is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Key Qualifications:
  • Proficient with design and schematic tools.
  • Familiarity with electronic testing strategies including In-Circuit Testing and board functional tests.
  • Proven excellence in organization, execution, and program management across complex cross-functional projects.
  • Strong skills in failure analysis of systems, circuits, and components.
  • Ability to drive technical root cause analysis and corrective actions to enhance system quality.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey precise technical information with a high level of detail.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a methodical approach to problem-solving, including engineering Design of Experiments (DOEs).
  • Experience in system manufacturing, Surface Mount Technology (SMT), and transitioning new products into manufacturing.
  • Experience utilizing various data mining and analysis methods to derive meaningful insights and drive key decisions.

Education & Experience:
  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
