Position Overview:
At Emmaus Drug Store, we are in search of a proficient and seasoned Supervising Pharmacist. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily functions of the pharmacy department, ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications. Your leadership and expertise will be essential in delivering outstanding patient care while adhering to all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage pharmacy personnel, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations
- Oversee the accurate dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with proper procedures for compounding and labeling
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to uphold compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and medication management
- Provide drug-related information to both healthcare providers and patients
- Conduct reviews of medication utilization to identify areas for improvement
- Monitor patient outcomes and suggest necessary adjustments to therapy
- Engage in medical management activities, including formulary oversight and medication reviews
- Maintain aseptic techniques in sterile compounding environments
- Offer clinical support in critical care settings such as emergency and intensive care units
- Exhibit proficiency in medical terminology and patient service
- Manage medication inventory levels and procure medications as required
- Keep accurate patient records and documentation
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree
- Current state pharmacist license in good standing
- Prior experience as a licensed pharmacist
- Strong understanding of pharmacology, physiology, and drug interactions
- Leadership and management capabilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding and medication management
- Expertise in medication administration, including IV infusion and pain management
Pay: $65.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
- Licensed Pharmacist (Required)
