Job Summary

Prioritize and coordinate ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians to ensure seamless patient care. Perform ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, providing exceptional patient care and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient orders and examine requests to ensure accurate exam procedures
  • Assist radiologists in performing invasive procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail
  • Evaluate exam quality and develop efficient techniques to optimize departmental productivity
  • Support patient-centered care by understanding the unique needs of each patient
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer, and/or Engineer to ensure prompt resolution
  • Operate the Radiology computer system to enter and charge exams and supplies, maintaining accurate records
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff
Requirements
  • Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S) with specialty in Vascular required
  • One additional specialty examination required: AB (Abdomen), BR (Breast), OB/GYN (Obstetrics and Gynecology), PS (Pediatric), or MSKS (Musculoskeletal)
  • 1 year experience required; graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program preferred
  • BLS HCP certification from AHA required
