The Nursing Department at South Dakota State University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Clinical Educator role. This position is designed for a 9-month term and will be based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
The Clinical Educator will be responsible for:
1. Delivering instruction in simulation, laboratory, and seminar environments for pre-licensure nursing students.
2. Overseeing daily operations within the lab and simulation environments.
3. Evaluating students' clinical reasoning and performance in practical settings.
4. Facilitating pre-briefing and post-briefing sessions during simulations.
5. Providing educational oversight in seminars and implementing patient simulations.
6. Occasionally supervising direct patient care activities.
7. Traveling between campuses as necessary.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A current, unencumbered nursing license eligible for practice in South Dakota.
- A master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Recent clinical experience in nursing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Background in simulation and laboratory instruction.
- Teaching experience in a baccalaureate program or higher education.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into educational practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
