Job Summary

As an Amwaste Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations at your assigned location. You will serve as the central point of contact for drivers, customers, safety, and customer service, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in determining the optimal daily driver staffing levels to balance responsiveness and productivity.
  • Ensure routes and trucks are assigned efficiently to complete daily routes in the most effective manner.
  • Manage incoming customer and sales department inquiries, requests for pick-up or container delivery, and ensure service guarantees are met.
  • Resolve customer issues and ensure drivers are on-site/location to resolve pick-up and other issues.
  • Oversee supervisors to ensure all aspects of their job descriptions are met.
  • Communicate with maintenance shop personnel to resolve equipment issues.
  • Oversee personnel needs of the operation, including hiring, training, terminations, coaching, and disciplining employees. Provide input to HR and the District Manager on compensation and promotion decisions.
  • Interact with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction and establish Amwaste as a corporate partner.
  • Partner with the District Manager to lead and manage continuous improvement for healthy financial and premier safety performance.

Requirements

Amwaste seeks candidates with strong character, competency, competitiveness, compassion, and credibility. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a team setting, effective communication skills, and the ability to engage in a fast-paced and intense environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, waste collection, or customer service, with a focus on decision-making and critical thinking.
  • Computer skills with the ability to handle multiple programs and systems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
