Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer eligibility tests and evaluate applicants for Driver Licenses, Commercial Driver Licenses, Learners permits, and ID cards
  • Provide excellent customer service, handling high-volume transactions and ensuring accurate data entry into internal systems
  • Use first-class customer service skills to confirm applicant knowledge of NC Motor Vehicle laws, identification of road signs, and observation of driving skills
  • Serve as a public advisor, identifying potential health concerns with drivers and advising customers of available adjunct service programs
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school and possession of a valid North Carolina Driver License
  • Ability to meet federal medical requirements and qualify/retain a Commercial Driver License
  • No suspensions or revocations within the last 10 years on your driver license
  • No more than 5 active points on your driver license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience explaining policy, procedure, and/or laws to educate customers or the public
  • Customer service experience with a diverse clientele
  • Knowledge of basic computer software, including database programs and Microsoft Office applications
