Position Overview

The Deli and Market Service Associate plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer experiences. This position involves a variety of responsibilities related to retail food service, including welcoming customers, serving food, and engaging in suggestive selling, as well as some food preparation tasks such as garnishing and plating.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Welcome and serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
  2. Handle hot and cold food items safely during preparation and service, adhering to strict sanitation practices.
  3. Maintain portion control and merchandising standards throughout service.
  4. Keep the checkout area organized and clean.
  5. Thoroughly clean equipment as assigned, ensuring timely completion.
  6. Monitor customer preferences and provide recommendations to management for product adjustments.
  7. Conduct daily inventory checks and request necessary supplies to maintain stock levels.
  8. Ensure all food items and supplies are stored properly, labeled, and dated.
  9. Assist in stocking the retail area and support culinary staff with display refrigerators and salad bars.
  10. Ensure that all display foods are presented attractively according to established standards.
  11. Notify culinary staff promptly when food quantities are running low.
  12. Communicate customer feedback directly to management.
  13. Adhere to standard operating procedures in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Essential)

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in the food service industry (Desired)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Food presentation skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
