Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Park Ridge, Illinois. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating advanced digital and computed radiographic equipment, including Portables, C-arms, O-arms, and Fluoroscopy units. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining competencies in multiple skill sets, including precepting new hires and radiology students, and assisting Radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate advanced digital and computed radiographic equipment, including Portables, C-arms, O-arms, and Fluoroscopy units.
  • Maintain competencies in multiple skill sets, including precepting new hires and radiology students.
  • Assist Radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures, including advanced exams such as GI procedures and mini special exams.
  • Perform radiographic procedures on Level I Trauma patients to expedite immediate care of critically ill patients.
  • Determine appropriate exposure factors and positions patients utilizing immobilization devices to ensure optimum film quality.
  • Adhere to department standards of radiographic quality, including reviewing radiographs to ensure optimum quality and reporting environmental/equipment problems to appropriate resource personnel.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
  • Certificate or Assoc. Degree in Radiology Technology.
  • Previous experience as a radiographer or 1 year experience at ALGH as a radiographer.
  • Good communication skills and a good understanding of R.I.S., working knowledge of Digital Imaging System, and basic computer skills.
  • ARRT Registered or registry eligible IDNS Licensed Current CPR Certification.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and emergency call back in order to accommodate staffing needs.
  • May be exposed to radiation during procedures.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, or be required to lift and move patients.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious disease, and required to participate in annual emergency drills.
