Sentara Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to become a vital part of our Neuro/Oncology unit. This position offers flexible scheduling options, allowing for a balanced work-life experience.


About the Unit:

Our Neuro/Oncology department is a specialized Medical/Surgical unit that focuses on providing exceptional care for patients with neurological and oncological conditions. With a manageable patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6, our team fosters an environment of mentorship and professional growth for both seasoned nurses and recent graduates.

We cater to a diverse range of patients, including those with chronic heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and various oncology diagnoses. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality care through teamwork and collaboration.


Work Schedule:

This role operates on 12-hour shifts, including weekend rotations, ensuring comprehensive orientation and continuous professional development opportunities.


Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • BSN or MSN preferred
  • Valid Registered Nurse License
  • Students nearing completion of an accredited nursing program are encouraged to apply
  • Students pursuing a Registered Nursing License
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
