Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our Geotechnical and Tunneling Team, you will be responsible for performing geotechnical engineering design and analyses for bridges, buildings, tunnels, underground structures, and retaining walls.

• Perform and coordinate field observation and special inspection of subsurface investigations in soils and rock
• Prepare and draft geotechnical memoranda, data reports, and design reports
• Perform and coordinate field observation and special inspection of geotechnical construction
• Assist task leaders in preparation of reports and Contract Documents
• Collaborate with other disciplines and project partners
• Assist to develop and coordinate geotechnical work in New England and other areas

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering, or a closely-related field
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
• Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering and working knowledge of related disciplines (Structures, Civil, and/or Environmental)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, discipline-specific design software, and other tools

• Master's Degree in Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering
• Engineer in Training Certification
• Prior design and/or construction experience of highway, bridge, building, and underground projects
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) and Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training
