Job Summary

Care for donors by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure efficient and effective plasma collection, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture on donors to begin pheresis process
  • Evaluate vein performance and make necessary corrections
  • Ensure donation process is efficient and make adjustments as needed
  • Use Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents and troubleshoot equipment failures
  • Monitor donor flow and alert Group Leader or Supervisor of issues
  • Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing
  • Ensure accurate recording of donor data in electronic donor information management system
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum eighteen (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred
  • Ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications
  • Ability to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation
