Job Summary

The Certified Surgical Technician I-IV is a vital member of the surgical team, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other surgical personnel to deliver exceptional patient care and ensure a smooth surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care, taking into account the patient's age and developmental stage.
  • Assist in maintaining a sterile environment and preventing the risk of infection or contamination.
  • Support staff surgeons, residents, and medical students with all surgical procedures, ensuring the maintenance of a sterile field.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate supplies and equipment, adhering to established PAR levels.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain AORN and JCAHO standards.
  • Prepare and assemble surgical cases, ensuring all necessary equipment and implants are available.
Requirements
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist in Surgery Certified (TS-C), or LVN with specialized training.
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification.
  • Current JPS-recognized CPR certification.
  • Relevant experience, with specific requirements varying by level (CST I-IV).
