Key Responsibilities- Routine Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine servicing and overhauling of all diesel engines, including inspections and repairs of technical malfunctions.
- Diagnostic and Repair Services: Diagnose and repair issues with fuel injection systems, emission controls systems, and preventative maintenance.
- Component Replacement and Installation: Disassemble and overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential units.
- Electrical and Engine Component Repair: Skilled in diagnosing and repairing major electrical and engine components, including rewiring lights and instrument panel components.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Inspect and test defective equipment, diagnosing malfunctions using diagnostic software per the manufacturer.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication with colleagues and customers.
- Experience: 5+ years of job-related experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school.
- Licenses and Certifications: CDL Required, Diesel Technical Certification Required, ASE Certification Preferred.
The Diesel Mechanic will be required to exert heavy physical effort, occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, and constantly lifting up to 10 pounds. The job demands include bending, carrying, climbing, crouching, fine dexterity, foot control, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting/exerting, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting rarely, standing, talking, vision, and walking/moving.
