Job Summary

Maintain expert clinical care in general or specialty areas, assessing patient needs and collaborating with physicians to provide comprehensive health assessments, diagnose acute and chronic illnesses, write prescriptions, and formulate treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient behavior, explore health needs, and work within the scope of practice as a nurse practitioner and agent of the physician.
  • Provide patient education, explain diagnoses, treatments, and prognoses, secure informed consent, and instruct patients on health maintenance and preventive care.
  • Directly perform or order diagnostic studies, interpret results, and follow up on acute and chronic problems, significant abnormal tests, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain adequate, concise, legible, and up-to-date documentation of patient care, including problem medical, medication, and discharge records, lab orders, subjective and objective data, diagnostic procedures, patient education, and treatment.
  • Write orders to increase, decrease, or change medication, subject to checking and medical consultation as indicated, and use cost-containment measures such as prescribing necessary medications, generic medications when appropriate, making clinically necessary referrals, and ordering only necessary diagnostic procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; two years' relevant clinical experience also preferred.
  2. Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required; Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure in the state of practice required; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification required.
Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on location and experience.
