About the Role

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Community Practice Medicine team in Denver, CO. This full-time role will provide exceptional patient care and support to physicians and advanced practice providers in meeting the operational needs and medical requirements of our practice.

Job Summary

This position entails assessing and evaluating patient conditions, planning, implementing, providing, and documenting patient care following professional nursing standards and outlined practices. The successful candidate will be an experienced RN with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate at all levels, including physicians, leadership, and staff within the various affiliate organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing and evaluating patient conditions, planning, implementing, providing, and documenting patient care
  • Escorting patients to and from exam rooms and preparing them for physicians
  • Performing telephone triage, patient education, and handling of physician phone calls and pharmacy calls
  • Taking vital signs, recording medical history/symptoms, and ensuring medical chart/lab test results are available and complete
  • Administering immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed
  • Responding to patient questions and concerns as a liaison between physician and patient
  • Reporting all test results to the patient as directed by the physician
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • A minimum of 2 years of Nursing experience, with preference given to those with 1-2+ years of job-related/clinic experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
  • Nursing certification (ANCC) in specialty area desired
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in large, complex healthcare systems
