Job Title: Orthotic Technician

At AdaptHealth LLC, we are seeking a skilled Orthotic Technician to join our team. As an Orthotic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in the evaluation and analysis of patient needs for orthotic services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and collaborate with orthotic practitioners in the evaluation and analysis of patient needs for orthotic services.
  • Examine and evaluate patient needs in relation to disease and functional loss to meet physician prescription, under the supervision of a certified practitioner.
  • Perform fitting and execute minor modifications under the direct supervision of an Orthotic Fitter or Physician as needed.
  • Assist Orthotic Fitters in evaluating orthotic devices on patients, adjust to ensure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
  • Instruct patients in the use of prescribed devices.
  • Identify and reconcile issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
  • Carry out treatment utilizing rehabilitation equipment, under the supervision of an Orthotic Fitter or Manager, and care for braces, prostheses, bandages, and other assistive devices as required.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy.
  • Monitor patients over time and make any necessary changes to devices to keep them in good condition within guidelines.
  • Follow up with patients and physicians as needed.
  • Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols, as well as current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • One (1) year of experience in providing customer services in a HME, healthcare setting, medical office, sports rehab, fitness, or retail environment is required.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license from the state of residence is required.
