Cafeteria Worker/Cook Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cafeteria Worker/Cook to join our team at Claiborne County Public School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to students in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and food safety guidelines.
  • Serve meals to students in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth meal service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Services Manager.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in food preparation and service preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals.
  • May be required to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
