Primary Responsibilities

We're seeking a skilled CAD/BIM Specialist to join our Madison, WI or Minneapolis, MN office. The successful candidate will support the Bridge Section with the production of drawings, layouts, sketches, and graphic representations of engineering designs using computer-aided design software. Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, plan sheet production, field investigations and inspections, and supporting other Transportation sections with engineering tasks.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate or technical school degree in engineering, construction management, computer programming, information technology, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil and structural design with BIM programs
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to work on a variety of transportation-related projects across multiple business lines, including office work and field inspections
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under broad direction from a Project Engineer or Project Manager on various planning and design projects
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
  • Interest and enthusiasm to learn other CAD and BIM software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience in the Engineering or Construction industry
  • Experience in construction inspection or field assignments
  • Experience with 3D modeling and BIM for Infrastructure using Bentley or Autodesk Products
