About the Position

Family Service League Inc. is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Family Recovery Center in Bay Shore.

This dynamic role involves providing individual and group therapy sessions for adults, adolescents, and children struggling with mental health and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to identify client needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, managing time to meet deadlines and track progress.
  • Liaise with external providers and family members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain proficiency in de-escalation and physical restraint skills through regular training and practice.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Social Work or a related field is mandatory.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, CASAC, or Limited Permit Social Worker) is required.
  • No less than 6 months of experience in a behavioral health setting, preferably in a clinic environment.
  • Previous work experience in chemical dependency programs or settings is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are crucial.
Compensation and Benefits
  • A competitive salary range of $57,000-$65,000 per annum.
