Respiratory Care Practitioner, Correctional Facility

The State of California is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, CA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the evaluation of pulmonary dysfunction in patients and provide the full range of cardiopulmonary therapeutic and diagnostic modalities.
- Maintain order and supervise the conduct of inmates and protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
- Conduct pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic procedures to assess patient respiratory status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians to manage patient respiratory conditions.
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on respiratory care and disease management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Graduation from an approved respiratory therapy program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care or its predecessor, the Joint Review Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education.
- A license to practice Respiratory Care issued by the Respiratory Care Board of California.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional setting and maintain a high level of professionalism and composure in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
