Position Summary:
The role encompasses comprehensive oversight of server operations, which includes managing operating systems, hardware, patching, firmware, BIOS, and service packs. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and administering server hardware and software to guarantee stability and availability around the clock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold enterprise standards and security protocols on all hardware and software.
- Provide expert knowledge and troubleshooting assistance during incidents and follow-up on problem management.
- Conduct problem resolution and root cause analysis, offering advice on preventative measures and implementing necessary changes to ensure system stability.
- Deliver consultation and direct technical support in lifecycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming.
- Execute releases, upgrades, and modifications within the environment.
- Monitor platform performance and availability to meet enterprise objectives, ensuring timely service restoration and system tuning.
- Engage in capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance, performance tuning, and diagnostics.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of IT experience in supporting large datacenter environments with over 1,500 servers across diverse geographical locations.
- Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCTP-EA, MCSE, MCSA) is advantageous.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows Microsoft infrastructure services, including Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, SCOM/SCCM, and server maintenance, which encompasses patching for both standalone and clustered servers.
- Experience with Windows Server Clustering and Load Balancing Technologies (F5).
- Familiarity with System Center tools such as Config Manager (SCCM), Operations Manager (SCOM), and Orchestrator.
- Competence in PowerShell or scripting, VMware, patch management, and managing large server environments.
- Knowledge of Service Now is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, written and verbal communication skills, and experience in Change Management/ITIL.
- Disaster Recovery experience is preferred.
Additional Information:
- This position is a long-term contract with potential for extension based on performance.
- The team does not operate in shifts; however, after-hours work and on-call rotation are expected.
