Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality advanced nursing care to patients with psychiatric and mental health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient evaluations and assessments, patient education, interventions, and document plans of care.
  • Request physician consultations and multidisciplinary consults as needed.
  • Recognize and address ethical, legal, and medical dilemmas in the nursing practice, conferring with appropriate resources and staff when necessary.
  • Work independently or under indirect supervision of a supervising physician, providing care to a variety of age populations.
  • May work different hours, weekends, and holidays, with possible on-call time.
Requirements
  • Master's in Nursing (MSN) or DNP required.
  • Current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in California.
  • Furnishing license issued by the State of California and personal DEA number.
  • National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of specialty required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years recent experience as a PMHNP, preferably in an ambulatory and acute healthcare environment.
  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
