This role entails the effective installation, management, and upkeep of fire alarm systems.
Key responsibilities encompass conducting inspections, testing, and executing system evaluations in compliance with fire regulations; recognizing code and system shortcomings, and generating precise and prompt inspection documentation.
Core Responsibilities:
• Install or enhance fire alarm systems in both commercial and residential properties.
• Conduct inspections to verify that alarms are installed in accordance with regulations.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing any identified issues.
• Accurately report the outcomes of completed tasks in a timely manner.
• Safeguard and maintain company assets.
• Inspect and care for the vehicle and all associated equipment, submitting repair requests as needed to ensure safe operation.
• Operate warehouse machinery, including vehicles, to facilitate the loading and unloading process while adhering to all safety protocols and manufacturer’s safety guidelines.
• Work safely as outlined by company safety standards, including driver safety and the use of personal protective equipment.• Respond to urgent service requests.
• Maintain a tidy and secure work environment.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
• NICET certification is preferred (requires prior experience or training).
• Familiarity with NFPA standards is advantageous (including 70 and 72).
• Experience with commercial and heavy industrial systems.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities.
• A clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from job sites are essential.
• Flexibility with scheduling is required, including potential evening, weekend, and/or out-of-town assignments.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of fire safety principles and practices.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant codes and regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
• Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions.
• Proficiency in using or repairing small/light equipment, such as power tools and ladders.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may occasionally lift and/or move heavy objects.
