Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the multi-disciplinary management of assigned projects, typically handling a significant project or multiple smaller projects with complex features. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians while actively contributing to business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the complete design process for projects of varying sizes.
  • Make critical design recommendations and decisions with minimal oversight.
  • Plan and allocate design work across disciplines for all project sizes.
  • Review documentation prepared by junior staff.
  • Engage in quality control processes for all projects.

Technical Path Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership within our Technical Operations Team for diverse projects.
  • Act as a consultant, analyzing technical challenges and preparing reports.
  • Participate significantly in project reviews to ensure quality control for complex projects.
  • Offer technical support to resolve field issues, requiring site visits and minimal assistance.

Project Management Path Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Project Manager for large, intricate projects or multiple smaller projects.
  • Identify potential clients and assist in marketing efforts to attract new business.
  • Consistently contribute to business development by engaging with existing and new clients.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in the technical aspects of structural engineering.
  • Proven ability to design and manage significant projects.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities.
  • Competence in conducting final quality control checks in your area of expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering license is required.
  • Structural Engineering license is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
