Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of our Quality Management System, including project quality plans and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of the Westinghouse Quality Management System, project quality plans, and project procedures for AP1000 projects.
  • Assure project team members are adequately trained on project requirements and implementing procedures.
  • Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and project management to support AP1000 projects.
  • Maintain compliance with the Westinghouse Quality Management System for project execution.
  • Promote, nurture, and assure a mature and healthy Nuclear Safety Culture and Safety Conscious Work Environment.
  • Drive safe, error-free performance through active use and promotion of Human Performance tools and organizational learning.
  • Communicate and implement quality assurance best practices through continuous improvement.
  • Ensure rigorous programmatic oversight of specified activities.
  • Recommend and implement solutions to quality problems, thorough corrective and preventive actions, and ensure solutions are communicated and implemented to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective change management, keeping clear and open lines of communication with other Quality organizations, leadership, regulatory agencies, customers, and suppliers, as appropriate.
  • Interface with other intercompany Quality organizations to support audits, ensure compliance, process consistency, and to share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Represent and support the AP1000 program in external (customer or regulatory) quality audits and inspections.
  • Monitor quality metrics, conduct data analysis, and prepare and present reports related to Quality performance.
Requirements:
  • Education: BS degree or equivalent (preferably engineering/technical).
  • Experience: 5 or more years of nuclear quality assurance experience.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance regulations, codes, and standards, including ISO 9001 and 19443, U.S. commercial nuclear power regulations, and comparable international regulations.
  • Abilities: Excellent communications skills, including technical writing and presentation skills, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10%).
