Key Responsibilities

  • Select and measure medications for prescriptions

  • Comply with security measures and quality standards
  • Stay up-to-date with HIPAA, HITECH, and FWA credentialing
  • Assist pharmacists with clinical and non-clinical operations
  • Package and deliver medication to patients
  • Communicate with insurance carriers for payment
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
Requirements
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (if required in your state)
  • At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Experience with Micro Merchant pharmacy system
  • Knowledge of medication calculations and pharmacy law
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Fine motor skills for keyboarding
  • Ability to look at computer screens for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
