Lead Principal Radiologic Technologist

Serving at UCLA Health offers a unique opportunity to utilize your specialized skills to enhance the lives of our patients, their families, and your fellow UCLA Health team members. You will provide critical support that facilitates healing. As the Lead Principal Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic images following prescribed protocols and procedures. Your expertise will be essential in conducting procedures on patients across all age groups, ensuring timely completion of studies with adherence to quality standards. Additionally, you will educate patients, assist in sterile technique procedures, and uphold patient confidentiality throughout the examination process. Proficiency in enhanced fluoroscopic duties in areas such as GI and GU arenas, Angiography, or Pediatric Diagnostics is an integral aspect of this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic images following prescribed protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct procedures on patients across all age groups, ensuring timely completion of studies with adherence to quality standards.
  • Educate patients and assist in sterile technique procedures.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality throughout the examination process.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in enhanced fluoroscopic duties in areas such as GI and GU arenas, Angiography, or Pediatric Diagnostics.
Requirements:
  • ARRT certification - required
  • CRT license - required
  • Fluoroscopic permit - required
  • BCLS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross - required
  • At least 5 years experience in diagnostic radiology - required
  • JCERT approved Radiologic Technologist Program graduate - strongly preferred
  • Ability to adapt to advancement and changing technology
  • Ability to support a group of technologists and triage the points of services; ensuring they are organized, effectively supported and efficient workflow is maintained with minimal delays
  • Ability to lead, mentor and train technologists, providing guidance on Fluoroscopy procedures and protocols while acting as the primary liaison between the general diagnostic section and other diagnostic sites
  • Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Excellent interpersonal skills effectively and diplomatically with patients, visitors, hospital staff, physicians, and other outside offices both in person and over the phone
