Job Summary

As a Sterile Processing Technician with Prisma Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will work closely with our surgical teams to prepare and maintain the necessary tools for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using various methods, including autoclaving and chemical disinfection.
  • Assemble and prepare instrument trays and sets for surgical procedures.
  • Document all activities related to instrument and equipment processing in our Instrument Tracking System.
  • Collaborate with our surgical teams to ensure the timely delivery of processed instruments and equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Requirements

  • Certification as a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician) is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of experience in a hospital or clinical setting may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
  • Ability to work night shifts and weekends as required.
