Your Responsibilities:

Safety First. Take initiative in prioritizing safety for yourself and your colleagues at all times while operating machinery in and out of the facility, adhering to Vulcan's safety standards.

Operate Heavy Vehicles. Drive heavy haul trucks to transport loose materials such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone. Utilize equipment within the facility to load materials efficiently.

Conduct Equipment Inspections. Execute comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections in line with Vulcan's standards. Accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports and other necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.

Maintain Vehicle Performance. Ensure optimal equipment functionality by checking fluid levels and assisting with minor maintenance tasks. Report any unsafe mechanical conditions to your supervisor.

Monitor Operations. Stay vigilant of your surroundings while operating equipment, reporting any required maintenance or adjustments to maintain safety standards.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

Experience Required. Prior experience in operating heavy haul trucks or similar construction machinery is preferred.

Licensing. A valid commercial driver's license is required, along with a current DOT physical or the ability to obtain one.

Knowledge of Operations. Familiarity with the principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment is advantageous. Understanding Department of Transportation regulations for transporting heavy machinery is preferred.

Adaptability. Willingness to work overtime and extended hours based on company and customer needs. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud environments.
