Storm Water Compliance Inspector

Murray City is seeking a highly skilled Storm Water Compliance Inspector to join our team in the Public Works/Stormwater department.
Job Summary:The Storm Water Compliance Inspector will be responsible for conducting construction and site inspections to ensure compliance with the City's Storm Water Management Ordinance, UPDES permits, and land disturbance permits. The successful candidate will also assist with DEQ and EPA audits, collect discharge samples, and interface with state and federal regulatory agencies, developers, contractors, and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducts construction and site inspections to ensure compliance with the City's Storm Water Management Ordinance, UPDES permits, and land disturbance permits.
- Assists with DEQ and EPA audits.
- Collects discharge samples from businesses to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and City regulations.
- Interfaces with state and federal regulatory agencies, developers, contractors, and consultants.
- Performs business license inspections based on Standard Industrial Classification.
- Operates light, medium, and heavy equipment, including single axle dump trucks, ten wheel dump trucks, power brooms, forklifts, jackhammers, semi-trailer and transport, frontend loader, backhoe, and roller.
- Removes snow, assists in flood control operations, and performs storm drain maintenance.
- Graduation from high school or completion of GED or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in streets and drainage system construction, maintenance, or repair, with at least two years in a position equivalent to an Equipment Operator I.
- Must be able to obtain a Utah Commercial Driver License.
- Must be able to obtain Flag Person Certification within six months of appointment.
- Must obtain HASWOPER training (40 hours) within 120 days of appointment.
- Must attend a Lead and Arsenic Hazards and Safety training within 30 days of appointment.
- Must be able to obtain Registered Stormwater Inspector Certification within six months of appointment.
