Job Description

A heavy equipment maintenance specialist is needed to maintain and repair a fleet of class 8 vehicles, petroleum tank trailers, medium duty specialty vehicles, and light duty automotive vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repair of components necessary for safe operation of assigned equipment, including electrical, brakes, chassis, power train, suspension, engine, and other specialty items.
  • Perform daily inspections of fleet vehicles and complete preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Test necessary equipment for defect diagnosis and ensure proper repairs have been completed.
  • Respond to calls when a driver breaks down and determine if an outside contractor is required.
  • Review equipment repair history and document similar repairs to identify trends and provide warranty assistance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of current technologies and equipment used in the transportation fleet by attending training seminars and courses.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations by completing required trainings and obtaining necessary certifications.
  • Perform work in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications.
  • Knowledge of fuel tanker operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to research and resolve issues.
  • Strong organization and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
