Position Overview

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for a combination of warehousing duties and hose assembly duties within a manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble purchased components, package, and ship as designated by customer requirements;
  • Review and prioritize daily shipping orders when received;
  • Pull all parts as indicated on the shipping orders, assemble components as necessary;
  • Call freight carriers indicated on the shipping order and complete required paperwork;
  • Load and unload trucks as necessary. Inspect containers and material and report any damage or missing items;
  • Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records;
  • Determine method of shipment;
  • Affix shipping labels on packed boxes; post weights and shipping charges and affix postage;
  • Assemble cardboard containers or select preassembled containers;
  • Insert items into containers, bind the container with the appropriate tape and stamp the identifying information onto the containers;
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with buyer to rectify any shortages;
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications;
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies;
  • Operate forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Read and follow written work instructions;
  • Possess strong mathematical skills;
  • Able to measure and read/interpret blueprints when needed;
  • Able to use standard hand and power tools;
  • Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds;
  • Ability to become forklift certified (training provided);
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Possess accurate keyboarding skills (for data entry);
  • Individuals must score 70% or higher on the Mechanical Aptitude test.
