Job Title: Journey Toolmaker

The Journey Toolmaker is a critical member of our Plastech Corporation team, responsible for building, repairing, and revising in-house fixtures and jigs as required by Engineering, Assembly, and Molding departments. This role involves performing preventative maintenance activities and repairs on current in-house production tools and fixtures, as well as completing all necessary paperwork and computer/data entry into IQMS on work performed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and repair in-house fixtures and jigs
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities on production tools and fixtures
  • Complete all paperwork and computer/data entry into IQMS
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Assembly, and Molding departments to meet production needs
Requirements:
  • 2-year technical school certificate/diploma in tool making or machine tool technology
  • Master Cam experience beneficial but not required
  • 5 years minimum experience in plastic injection tooling revisions and repair
  • Print reading skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong knowledge of tooling required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English job instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
