Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Saint Joseph Health System. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ultrasonography and the ability to conduct diagnostic procedures with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts diagnostic ultrasonography procedures to provide data for physician diagnosis and treatment.
  • Relays pertinent clinical information to interpreting physicians and observes patients during procedures for any abnormalities.
  • Reviews patient charts and records information for interpreting physicians prior to beginning procedures.
  • Performs procedures according to departmental policies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Selects appropriate equipment and transducer settings for specific examinations.
  • Assists patients in assuming proper physical positions and explains procedures to elicit cooperation and calm apprehensions.
  • Observes display screens to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Discusses examinations with interpreting physicians and seeks input to enhance technical skills.
Requirements:
  • Completion of two/three years of occupationally specific education beyond high school in radiologic technology, ultrasonography, or related education.
  • ARRT, ARDMS, RDCS, or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification or registry eligibility.
  • Completion of at least two years of occupationally specific education beyond high school in radiologic technology, ultrasonography, or related education.
  • Ability to recognize and demonstrate pertinent anatomy and pathology.
  • Ability to perform at a high level of mental effort while performing tasks accurately and without error.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and make independent judgments.
